STEM Professional Development for Catholic Teachers

In partnership with VCEA, Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria invites Catholic teachers to:

Biomimicry: the natural way to teach STEM

Bring STEM learning to life using nature as the inspiration for sustainable design in this best practice STEM Professional Development opportunity.

Nature has been problem solving for 3.8 billion years. Biomimicry taps into this knowledge, inspiring students to connect, observe and discover the natural world to develop design ideas that help people and the planet. Teachers will learn the biomimicry framework and practical skills needed to bring this real-world learning concept to their students.

Covers the following Australian Professional Standards for Teachers:

  • 2.1 – Content and teaching strategies of the teaching area(s).
  • 3.1 – Establish challenging learning goals.
  • 3.3 – Use teaching strategies.
  • 6.2 – Engage in professional learning and improve practice.

** This PD is highly recommended for schools participating in the Biomimicry Bootcamp program.**
