National Herbarium Remedial Works
Providing a short-term solution to critical risks facing the State Botanical Collection.
The State Botanical Collection is housed in the National Herbarium of Victoria. The Collection consists of approximately 1.5 million dried specimens of plants, fungi and algae as well as a rich and diverse collection of botanical books, manuscripts and works of art.
The Collection is scientifically significant and globally important. The National Herbarium Remedial Works project will deliver a short-term solution to the critical risks faced by the State Botanical Collection.
Works will include roof repairs, upgrades to mechanical and electrical services, fire services and lift and Collection capacity solutions.
