Benefits of Joining the Climate Change Alliance of Botanic Gardens

Why join?

Think of the Climate Change Alliance of Botanic Gardens as a living system that supports itself and other members to action on climate change. It’s about people, relationships and working together for more resilient botanical organisations and successful landscape succession.

Members join because they know that:

  • We cannot do this alone Together, we are a powerful voice for change

As a living system, the Alliance is self-organising, diverse and will evolve over time.

We already have a model Landscape Succession Strategy, toolkits for members to use to help them develop their own Landscape Succession Strategy, and climate risk assessment tools for managing plant collections and landscapes.

We have a group of founding partners who are undertaking climate change actions in their own landscapes, and reaching out to their networks.

We have a group of climate, botanical, horticultural and other experts supporting the Alliance.

We have developed a Charter for our operation.

Whether you’re just starting out or already taking steps to address climate change, the Climate Change Alliance provides you with an opportunity to work with others to make real impact.

Membership also enables:

  • Access to unique professional development and networking opportunities
  • The support of a Collective Global Alliance to respond to the impacts of Climate Change
  • A profile as a leader in climate change action
  • Plant information exchange and sharing of collective expertise in managing plant collections and landscapes
  • Sharing of your current activity, i.e. What’s your Landscape Succession Project?

Every action, whether great or small, makes your organisation more prepared in the face of our shifting climate.
