Landscapes for Learning

Discover how to create an outdoor play and learning space centred around imaginative Nature Play.

Students will meet garden experts and learn about the planning, plant selection and landscape creation that went into the development of the Ian Potter Foundation Children’s Garden. They will consider the role children can play in planning and designing outdoor play and learning spaces and how to incorporate links to the Victorian Essential Learning Standards. Students will also be encouraged to consider the challenges and perceived dangers of outdoor play, risk assessment and mitigation, how to forge community partnerships and develop sustainable practices.
