Specifically-designed programs at The Ian Potter Foundation Children’s Garden at Melbourne Gardens will take your vacation care group on a journey of discovery.
Children participate in hands-on activities in the Children’s Garden, where they will discover the wonderful world of plants through a range of activities that focus on imagining, exploring, creating, planting and ponding.
Group bookings are available for vacation care groups including local council, school and Vacation Care providers.
Recommended for primary and early childhood children, please contact our education staff to discuss the specific needs of your group. Our professional staff will work with you to design a program that best suits your group.
Programs run for one and a half hours and can be tailored to suit your group’s needs and age range.
Choose from two of the following activities: ponding, planting a seedling, potpourri making, or meeting the worms.

Bookings / Enquiries
Dance through the water cycle at the Australian Garden and learn about the importance of water to life. This program is focused on movement and creativity. Children will develop their own Raindance, use water painting, explore all the colours of the landscape around them and pot up their own drought-tolerant plant to take home. Experiences include a discovery walk, water play and rhythm and dance inspired by the water cycle.
Suitable for children aged 6 to 12 years.

Vacation Care groups (and other primary school-aged children) $12.30 per child – up to eight adults (carers) are free.
