Balee Koolin Bubup Playgroup

Join us for an early years learning program specially developed for Aboriginal children and their parents/carers set in the beautiful bushland at Cranbourne Botanic Gardens.

Each week, bush playgroup participants engage in a series of play and nature-based activities involving Aboriginal storytelling, bush exploration, song, traditional dance and music, and the learning of the local Aboriginal language and culture – Boonwurrung.

The program is a partnership between Casey Cardinia Libraries, Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria and the Victorian Aboriginal Corporation for Languages. Playgroup sessions are co-facilitated by an Aboriginal educator from the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria and an Outreach Librarian from Casey Cardinia Libraries, with oversight from local Elders to ensure the program is culturally guided.
