Marnngrook Making with Jaffa Richardson

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families are invited to join in this unique workshop led by proud Dja Dja Wurrung woman Jaffa Richardson, to create and take home their very own marngrook.

Marngrook refers to both the traditional aboriginal game played for thousands of years by communities prior to colonisation, a game that has influenced the sport we know today as Aussie Rules, as well as the possum skin ball that was used in the game.

As part of this workshop, participants be guided by Jaffa to measure, cut and sew actual possum skins to create their own marngrook (possum skin ball).

Suitable for families with children aged 12 and over.

Whilst undercover, this workshop is outdoors so please wear clothing suitable for the forecast weather conditions.
