Bandicoot Ramble & Amble
Dig deep into the fascinating world of the Southern Brown Bandicoot with Cranbourne Gardens ecology and Bandicoot experts Terry Coates and Eilish Roberts. Fifty years ago, these cute critters were a common sight in the south-east of Melbourne but now, due to habitat destruction, Cranbourne Gardens is one of their last safe havens within the suburbs.
Enjoy an interactive guided walk to discover the biology and history of these marsupials and find out how the needs of wildlife and plants are met at Cranbourne Gardens.
Also on the walk you’ll encounter our very own Big Bandicoot - made by artists Darryl Cordell, Vanessa Ellis and Trina Gaskell - on site for the Big Bandicoot Backyard event in September.
