John Willis

Initially inspired by the Beauty in Truth exhibition of Margaret Stones in 1996, John has grown increasingly aware of the strong heritage of natural history illustration and in particular that of our own local Botanical Artists. A first time contributor to this exhibition, John is a student attending Dianne Emery’s classes. He is particularly interested in illustrating Australian native plants, especially those indigenous to the Melbourne Metropolitan area as represented by those growing in the Long Island in the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. He aims to include in his work evidence of the interrelationships in nature of flora and fauna.
