Helene Wild

A freelance botanic artist living in a Melbourne bayside suburb, Helene Wild has been drawing and painting ever since she learned how to hold a pencil.  Her preferred subjects have always been the flowers, insects and other small creatures that inhabit her garden.  Helene’s botanic art is held in private and corporate collections worldwide, including the State Botanic Art Collection and the permanent collection of the Castlemaine Art Gallery in regional Victoria .  She has accepted many commissions to paint natural history subjects, and several companies are using her floral images on their products.  In 1999, Helene was appointed Resident Artist to the Habitat Trust where she enjoys painting the indigenous species growing in the beautiful Basaltica WaterWise Garden and where she has been allocated space to showcase her work.  Since 1989, she has edited the Australasian Native Orchid Society (Victorian Group) newsletter.
