Lindy is a
Melbourne
based artist who has had a life-long interest in conservation, flora and fauna which she combines with a love of art in its many forms and an intense passion for colour. Her initial training and employment was in Textile Design, working for several leading
Melbourne
companies before moving into self-employment. This led to some years working overseas in the Textiles field in
London
and
Como
Italy
, including painting and exhibiting in landscapes, still-life and portraiture in oils. Her training has included Graphic Design at RMIT, Life Drawing at Vic. Artist’s Society and more recently, portraiture in oils with Lee Machelak. An enduring interest in fine detail and an off-chance attendance at a Botanical Art Exhibition, led to her beginning studies in Botanical Art in 1999 at the Botanical Art School of Melbourne with Jenny Phillips and Fiona McKinnon. In 2004 she completed a Masterclass with Anne-Maree Evans from
London
and another in early 2005 with Jenny Phillips. Lindy’s work is published in the 2003 and 2007 Jenny Phillips National Trust Diaries and both her botanical watercolours and oils are held in private collections in
Melbourne
and overseas.
