For some years I have tried painting in different media mainly oils and acrylics with limited success. I decided to try watercolours about ten years ago as a student with Bayside artist Margaret Metcalfe who taught me the basics of this medium graduating to painting landscapes, seascapes, still life and many other subjects. However, I have finally found my passion to be botanic art when I started classes in 2004 in the Whirling Room under the tuition of Mali Moir for two years. I have now almost completed my first years with Dianne Emery and I must congratulate both excellent tutors for their inspiration to their students. Being a retired draftswoman, the detail required in this form of art is so satisfying for me. I hope to continue learning more about this wonderful subject for years to come.
