Merle McIntyre
Merle was a potter up to 1997 and who loved decorating the pots she made, some with the impression of flowering eucalypts. Her pottery was exhibited around
Australia
and has her work in private collections around the world. In 1998 she started botanical illustration classes with Dianne Emery through the Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens, specialising mainly in lichens and some liverwurts. Merle has exhibited paintings in the “The Art of Botanical Illustration” in 2000, 2002 and 2004 and has exhibited in several of group exhibitions. The Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne bought one of Merle’s lichen paintings in 2002 for their State Collection.
