Beverley Lewis
Born in
Western Victoria
, Beverley’s interest in plants started at university and was rekindled in recent years through drawing and painting. Her passion for botanical art is stimulated by the unique flora of the western plains and the Grampians. Quirky or unusual plants hold particular attraction, for example lichens, rare fungi, and thistles of the basalt plains. Her media of choice are pencil, pen and ink and, more recently with inspiration and teaching from Mali Moir and Diane Emery watercolour. She has successfully exhibited at monthly Royal Botanic Gardens markets, and Kangaroo House Gallery, Hurstbridge, in 2005. Other exhibitions include the North Hamilton Rotary Art Show in 2004, and Catanach’s Antiques and Art in 2006. This is her first exhibition at “The Art of Botanical Illustration”.
