Edyta Hoxley

Edyta is the current Convener of the Botanical Illustrators at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne. Edyta first developed an appreciation for botanical art during her university studies in the natural sciences. She has always felt a strong affinity for the natural landscape with its rich colours and textures. In order to seriously pursue her interest in botanical art, Edyta began studying about nine years ago with several well-known Australian and international teachers. Since then she has successfully exhibited and sold works both in Melbourne and Sydney and is now a well established artist represented in the State Botanical Art Collection at the National Herbarium as well as many private collections here and overseas. Her favorite subjects are Australia ’s unique flora which she portraits combining the best elements of traditional botanical illustration with contemporary botanical art.
