Eileen Curwell

At the age of sixteen and three months into a four year Art Scholarship at Manchester Regional College of Art,  Eileen had to give up a promising art career due to long term illness On return to health she was advised to forget full time study and art was put aside  as marriage, children, work and running a business took precedence.  Determined to return to painting  Botanical Art is  Eileen’s retirement gift to herself. Eileen has studied intermittently under the tutelage of Margaret Muffet at Geelong Botanical Gardens since 2002.   Dolores Skowronski - Malloni  and John Pastoriza Pinol have also been instrumental in mentoring her through classes and advice. Eileen’s pencil work was selected for exhibition in the Margaret Flockton Award for Botanical Illustration at the Red Box Gallery in Sydney in 2005 and 2006. This is her first year of entry into the Art of Botanical Illustration Melbourne.
