Elizabeth Cooper

Elizabeth Cooper was educated at Walford Church of England Girls Grammar School, Adelaide and then at the University of Adelaide where she completed a BA (Hons) Degree in French Language in Literature. She now lives in Sydney , New South Wales . After a career in Children’s Book Publishing as an Editor and Writer, she took up botanical drawing and painting. She has  exhibited in a number of group exhibitions including the Botanical Art Society of Australia Annual Award Exhibitions, the Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens , Sydney “Botanica” Exhibition and the Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney “Margaret Flockton Award for Scientific Illustration”. Elizabeth won Highly Commended Awards for her drawings in the Margaret Flockton Award for Scientific Illustration in 2004 and 2005. Also in 2005, she was awarded First Prize for Drawing in the Botanical Art Society of Australia Members’ Award Exhibition. Elizabeth was the Founding Editor of the Newsletter of the Botanical Art Society of Australia and produced the first seventeen issues between 1999 and 2005.
