Fiona Clarke
Fiona was a keen student of art during her school years, although her teachers lamented her emphasis on detail. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts at the
University
of
Melbourne
in 1992, majoring in art history. Fiona also has a long-held love of gardening, including a particular passion for Australian plants. In late 2003, these interests and that much lamented eye for detail were given a combined outlet when Fiona began classes in botanical illustration with Dianne Emery at the Royal Botanic Gardens in
Melbourne
. Fiona exhibited and sold work for the first time in early 2006 at the Catanach’s Gallery’s ‘Contemporary Botanical Art’ exhibition in Armadale, Melbourne. ‘The Art of Botanical Illustration’, 2006, is her second opportunity to exhibit.
