Lyndell Price

Drawing and painting from an early age, and with an intense love of the environment, fauna and flora, Lyndell started work in the art field as a Fabric Designer for several firms in Melbourne. This led to some years in self-employment and later to work in London and Como Italy, an interest which continues, alongside her botanical art today. On return to Australia Lyndell dropped her art and did a Social Work degree, working largely in Counseling and private practice. Whilst satisfying her intellect, her creative soul was starving, and some three years ago now, after attending a Botanical exhibition, she returned to painting and commenced classes with the Botanical Art School of Melbourne. With her early background in fabric design, Botanical Art has provided Lyndell with an alternate means of indulging her passions for fine detailed work, the environment and a new found love of working in watercolour. Lyndell has exhibited since 1999 and received "Best Painting under $500" prize at St Kevin's Art Show - 2002.
