Lauren Black Lauren is a botanical artist from Hobart, Tasmania, whose love of the states native flora is seen extensively in her work. In 2001 she received a grant from Arts Tasmania to produce a suite of paintings which have historical links to Tasmania. She is also curating a major botanical art exhibition with The Launceston Museum and Art Gallery for 2003 - An international event dedicated to island artists and island flora. Current projects include documenting Tasmania's endangered endemic flora; a commission form Southern Ice Porcelain with master ceramicist Les Blackeborough and illustrating the plants of Riparian Tasmania.
