Edyta Hoxley

Edyta first developed an appreciation for botanical illustration during her university studies in biological sciences. She has always felt a strong affinity for the natural landscape and began to seriously pursue her interest in botanical art about six years ago through training with several well-known Australian and international teachers. She paints whenever she can find the time while looking after her three young sons. Edyta has successfully exhibited and sold works over the past four years and two years ago her watercolour painting of Lichen species was purchased by the Herbarium for the State Botanical Collection. Her favourite subjects are Australian native plants and she aims to combine the best elements of traditional botanical illustration with contemporary botanical art.
