Alwynne Fairweather

Born in Sydney, she graduated from Sydney University majoring in botany and geology. The flora of the bushland has always been a source of interest and pleasure. She lived for twenty four years in Broken Hill NSW with her mining engineer husband and grew to love the flora of that semi-arid region. Since 1970 she has been a resident of Melbourne and finds the diversity of native plants in Victoria a continuing source of inspiration. A foundation member of the Botanical Illustrators Group of the Friends of the RBG, she has exhibited at each of The Art of Botanical Illustration exhibitions held by the group as well as several in private galleries.
