Carrol has always enjoyed drawing and painting but it was not until retirement, to go with a chance meeting with Jenny Phillips, which led her to the delights of botanical art. In recent years Carrol has successfully exhibited at the last four ‘Art of Botanical Illustration’ exhibitions, the Eltham Wiregrass Gallery, Villa Mulberry and Papillion in Malvern. Her work has also been reproduced in the National Trust Desk Diary 2003. Her designs have been used by Robert Gordon Ceramics and by Rotary International for the production of their annual Christmas Cards. She has undertaken many private commissions and her work is represented both here and overseas.
