John Armstrong

John started painting in 1988 after a course with Anita Barley, and continued in 1991 with classes by Jenny Phillips and in 1998 with Anne-Marie Evans.  He illustrates only Australian native plants and has been involved in the writing and illustrating of “The Flora of Melbourne” 1991, illustrations for the glossary of “Brachyscomes of Australia” 1995, illustrations of Pultenaea and Almalea for the “Flora of Victoria” V3 1996. He has an interest in studying native plants and has travelled widely throughout Australia collecting and studying them over 40 years.

He has exhibited in Australia , Japan and U.S.A and is represented in collections in Australia , Canada , Japan and U.K.
