Marina Albert

Marina attended a semester at Anita Barley’s class in botanical illustration at Burnley Horticultural College in Melbourne in 1991 and studied botanical illustration with Jenny Phillips at the Melbourne School of Botanical Art.

She joined the Friends of the RBGM Illustrators Group in 1992 and has exhibited regularly with that group at the ‘Art of Botanical Illustration’. Her work is included in the Cranbourne florilegium project housed in the Herbarium and was exhibited in 2003 ‘Nature’s Art Revealed – 150 years of Botanical Art at the National Herbarium of Victoria’.

Marina has also exhibited successfully at local galleries and art shows. Her works are represented in private collections in Victoria, interstate and overseas. In June 2004 she was invited to take part in a joint exhibition in the botanical gardens in Osaka , Japan .

Marina is interested in portraying the details of cones, small nuts, fruits and leaves of Australian native plants.
