Fire safety

Fire is an essential but carefully managed ingredient in the ecology of this bushland and many species of plants depend on fire to release seed and/or germinate.

To guard against unmanaged fires:

  • only use the barbecues  provided
  • please do not discard cigarette butts on the tracks or in the bush.

Watch for signs of fire, especially on days of high fire danger. If you do see signs of fire, please:

  • stay calm
  • work out the direction the fire is travelling and walk away from it to a Fire Evacuation Point (FEP - marked on map)
  • stay on the walking tracks.
