How to book Visitor Programs in 2011/12

How to make a booking

Bookings can be made by telephoning a member of the Customer Service team on (03) 9252 2429 or in person at the Visitor Centre.

Confirmed numbers

The number of participants attending the program must be confirmed at the time of making your booking.

Payment

Payment in full is required at the time of booking.

Payment may be made by:

  • cash, cheque, credit card or EFTPOS at the Visitor Centre
  • credit card, over the phone on (03) 9252 2429
  • mail, with cheque or money order payable to:

Cancellation policy

If the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne (RBG Melbourne) cancels a program due to circumstances beyond its control (i.e. extreme weather conditions), the program may be rescheduled to another date or time, or a full refund will be issued.

RBG Melbourne reserves the right to cancel a program due to insufficient participants. Should a program be cancelled due to a lack of participants, staff will endeavour to contact booked participants 24 hours prior to their scheduled tour and a full refund will be issued.

If an individual cancels a booking providing at least 24 hours notice, a full refund will be issued.

If an individual cancels a booking within 24 hours of the visit or does not attend on the day, a refund will not be issued.

Observatory tours

Please note that Observatory tours will not be cancelled due to overcast or inclement weather conditions. Your guide will conduct an informative tour although the use of telescopes for observation in these conditions will not occur. If you find this undesirable, you may wish to cancel your booking but you will need to provide at least 24 hours notice.

Minimum fee

Group programs have a minimum fee requirement. For all programs, this is based on the fee payable for 15 adult participants.

Confirmed numbers

Group bookings are not considered confirmed until payment has been received.

The confirmed number of participants is required 24 hours prior to your scheduled tour. This is the minimum number for which charges will apply.

If on the day of your tour, the number of participants increases, payment for the additional people will be required.

If on the day of your tour, the number of participants decreases from the number indicated 24 hours prior, a refund will not be issued.

Payment

Payment in full is required at least 7 days prior to your scheduled tour.

If your group cancels a booking providing at least 24 hours notice, a full refund will be issued less a $40.00 administration fee.

If your group cancels a booking within 24 hours of the planned visit or does not attend on the day, a refund will not be issued.

How to book an Education program in 2011/12

How to make a booking

Bookings can be made by telephoning a member of the Customer Service team on (03) 9252 2358. Bookings can also be made in person at the Education Office.

Minimum fee

A minimum charge of $189.00 (incl. GST) per class applies for each program.

Confirmed numbers

Confirmation of the number of students attending a program is required 24 hours prior to your visit. This is the minimum number for which charges will apply.
A tax invoice, reflecting confirmed student numbers (or the actual number of students, should this number increase), will be sent to you following your visit.

Payment

Payment of this invoice is required within 14 days.
Alternatively, payment may be made on the day at the Education Office by cash, school cheque or credit card.

Rescheduling policy

If your school requests to reschedule a booking, provided at least 24 hours notice is received, an administration fee will not be charged.

If your school cancels a booking, with at least 24 hours notice, an invoice for $40.00, to cover administration costs, will be payable.

If your school cancels a booking within 24 hours of the planned visit or does not attend on the day, an invoice for the confirmed number of students will be payable.
