The Gardens

Entry to the Gardens is free of charge.

Open:
7.30am to sunset every day of the year

The Visitor Centre

Located at the Observatory Precinct at the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne and is open seven days a week.

Open:
9am - 5pm, Weekdays
9.30am - 5.00pm, Weekends and public holidays*

Closed:
*Christmas Day and New Years Day

Ian Potter Foundation Children's Garden

Closed:

Eight weeks for rest and maintenance over winter.

Mondays, Tuesdays in term time – booked schools use only

Open:
10am - Sunset, Wednesday to Sunday (Mondays, Tuesdays in term time – booked schools use only)
10am - Sunset, seven days per week during Victorian State School holidays
10am – Sunset all public holidays

Tropical Display – Glasshouse 

Open:
10am - 4pm, daily
12-4pm, all public holidays

Plant Craft Cottage

Open:   
10am - 3pm, Monday to Friday and the third Sunday of each month

Closed:
Thursday 15 December 2011 until 10 January 2012 and all public holidays
