Botanic art exhibitions

The Friends hold regular botanic art exhibitions.  Every 2 years The Biennial Art of Botanical Illustration Exhibition, of over 150 original works of art is held.  In between the Friends hold exhibitions of smaller works and unframed works, special plant genus projects eg the Oaks of the RBG Melb, and other stand alone exhibitions.

From Forest to Seashore - Natural History: Ferns, fungi and allies - October 2013

Following the success of the Eucalypt and Natural History exhibition held in October 2011, the Friends of the RBG intend to hold a similar exhibition in October 2013.

If you are a member of the Friends you are invited to exhibit your work in From Forest to Seashore - Natural History: Ferns, fungi and allies.

Eucalypts of the Royal Botanic Gardens and Nature's small wonders Exhibition

1-16 October 2011

This exhibition featured botanical illustrations by the artists of the Friends.  The subjects for the exhibition were the Eucalypts of the RBG Melbourne plus illustrations of insects and items from nature.

The Eternal Order in Nature: The Science of Botanical Illustration

18 July to 7 August 2011.
