Wheelchair accessibility

Most of the Australian Garden is flat and suitable for wheelchairs, with the exception of the Serpentine path. This track has a steep incline but can be avoided by travelling around the Australian Garden in a clockwise direction - this area then becomes down hill and can be is easily navigated. Please note, however, that visitors using wheelchairs may require assistance on this winding path.

Wheelchairs can be borrowed from the Visitor Centre upon receipt of a fully-refundable $50 security deposit. To ensure availability, we suggest booking a wheelchair in advance by calling the Visitor Centre on (03) 5990 2245.

Woodland Picnic Area

Facilities include:

  • 4 free gas barbecues, picnic tables and chairs
  • A large Pavilion which contains 4 barbecues, 4 sets of picnic bench seats and tables and additional seating
  • A small Pavilion which contains 2 barbecues, 2 sets of picnic bench seats and tables and additional bench seating

Features include:

  • New children’s playground
  • Wide open spaces where ball games are permitted
  • A new 4km bicycle track
