Botanical fabricators
We work with fabric crafts (hand sewing, machine sewing and embroidery) using materials or designs featuring and highlighting the beauty of Australian native plants.
Waratah Placemat
Come and join us, all are welcome. We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 10am to 1.30pm in the Maud Gibson Room (which is near the RBG Cranbourne Office). Tea or coffee is provided, but BYO lunch.
While 2011 has been another interesting year for the Botanical Fabricators group, with lots of happy social times and a range of projects completed using some very attractive Australian plant fabrics, 2012 promises to be even better!
Following the success of the Under the Australian Sun range of fabrics designed by Leesa Chandler, a second range—Under the Australian Sun 2— has been commissioned, with stocks expected to arrive in the very near future.
Fabric craft and quilting exhibition
A special Fabric Crafts and Quilting Exhibition will be held in the Auditorium of the Visitor Centre, from Saturday 10 to Sunday 18 March. A wide range of fabrics, fabric crafts and quilts will be on display, and visitors will also be able to purchase items made from a range of fabrics depicting our superb Australian native plants.
Mark these dates in your 2012 diaries now, and look out for further information in our autumn 2012 issue of Naturelink. Now is the time to also write in our regular meeting dates for 2012, with get-togethers held on the second Tuesday of each month, from 10am to about 1.30pm in the Maud Gibson room at Cranbourne.
For further information contact Gwen Elliot on 9879 1427 or at rgelliot@optusnet.com.au.
Carlene Gosbell has used some of Leesa Chandler’s recent ‘Under the Australian Sun’ range of fabrics to make this magnificent placemat.
