About us
Established in 1986, the Garden Plant Conservation Association of Australia Inc. (GPCAA) is a not-for-profit organization funded and supported by annual membership subscriptions and fundraising activities. From its inception, the GPCAA has benefitted from the voluntary governance, participation and advice of some of Australia’s most recognized, talented and knowledgeable plant lovers. The Association’s structure provides opportunities for garden plant enthusiasts with a passion for conserving Australia’s garden plant diversity. There are opportunities available today to create your own significant role in GPCAA’s ongoing development.
The GPCAA’s enduring assignment is the conservation and preservation of Australia’s garden plant diversity. From the original involvement of the horticultural and scientific communities, the Association now embraces a wider population who include ecological, sustainable and productive gardening techniques among their interests.
As we stand on the threshold of an explosion of worldwide conservation organisations - and an increasing awareness of the urgent need to maintain the diversity of our plant gene pool, consider becoming part of one of Australia’s most prestigious and long standing conservation organizations, the Garden Plant Conservation Association of Australia Inc.
