How to report sightings of Fungimap Target Species

When you find a target species, please send a record in to Fungimap. You can do this either by using the Fungimap record sheet, or sending a note or e-mail including the following information. If you would prefer to send records by e-mail and you are seeing target species regularly, you can obtain an electronic copy of the record sheet to make the process easier.

RECORDS OF TARGET SPECIES

For each record, please include the following information:

  • Recorders name & address;
  • Use of GPS (Y/N);
  • Name of species;
  • Grid reference (latitude & longitude, Australian Mapping Grid or Melway reference);
  • Altitude (if known);
  • State, General region; Locality (specific area) including the Precision coding (see info on back of record sheet);
  • Habitat and Substrate (habitat is a description of the vegetation where the fungus is growing – such as Box/Ironbark woodland or Nothofagus rainforest etc.; substrate is what the fungus is growing on – such as dead wood, dung, bark of living Eucalyptus etc.);
