The AG goes to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show

In May 2010, the Royal Botanic Gardens delightedly announced its early acceptance to the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show in 2011.

The Gardens’ team, led by award winning landscape designer Jim Fogarty, will stage a major show garden which will be entitled “The Australian Garden” and themed around the Australian Garden at the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, which was designed by Taylor Cullity Lethlean with Paul Thomson.

The major show garden will tell the metaphorical journey of water and feature specialised Australian plant species which have never been seen at Chelsea before.

It is estimated that 150,000 people will admire the Australian Garden during the five-day show, with millions of people around the world tuning in to radio and television reports.

The Chelsea Flower Show is a huge undertaking – often referred to as ‘the Mt Everest of the gardening world’ – so join our blog as we talk about the highs and lows on the road to Chelsea!
