Forthcoming Fabric Craft and Quilting Exhibition

An exciting display of Fabric Crafts and Quilting celebrating Australian native flora and fauna will be held in the Auditorium of the Visitor Centre at RBG Cranbourne from Saturday 2 to Monday 11 March. A similar exhibition held in early 2012 was an outstanding success, so we have high expectations for this forthcoming exhibition.

The exhibition will be held in conjunction with Chandler's Cottage, Beaumaris Vic.. Leesa Chandler, a member of the Friends of RBG Cranbourne, is the main driving force in staging the displays. Many of the items will feature the delightful fabrics designed by Leesa in the 'Under the Australian Sun' range, as well as Australian-themed quilts by internationally acclaimed Australian textile artists.

The Botanical Fabricators group wil also be involved, and assisting in various ways, including the display and sale of items which have been made by members of this group.

The Exhibition will be open from 10am to 4.30pm each day, with items available for purchase, in addition to some very special display-only pieces. Entry is free and there is not need to book.

For further information contact Gwen Elliot on 9879 1427 or at rgelliot@optusnet.com.au.

Carlene Gosbell used some of Leesa Chandler’s  fabrics from the first  ‘Under the Australian Sun’ range, to make this magnificent placemat.
