Culinary fanfare at the Royal Botanic Gardens     

The Royal Botanic Gardens are joining in the fun at the popular Melbourne Food and Wine Festival this year.

As one of the most popular picnic spots in Melbourne for over a century, the Melbourne Gardens will host an array of events to allow festival goers the chance to relax, enjoy the scenery and learn something about the Gardens’ spectacular collections and sights.

Visitors will also have the chance to see the Australian Garden at the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne by moonlight.

The two culinary events are:

AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER

Event Dates: 20, 21, 22, 23 March
Cost: $20 per person
Time: 3pm-5pm
Venue: Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne
Enter via gate A - Anderson Street, South Yarra

Discover life by the Ornamental Lake - one of the hidden treasures within the Royal Botanic Gardens. Spend a lazy afternoon strolling around the Lake with one of our expert guides then return to The Terrace to indulge in superb Victorian wines from the Yarra Valley, local Victorian cheeses, espresso coffee and miniature desserts such as tiramisu and cheesecakes, whilst listening to the music of renowned harpist Michael Johnson and flautist Megan Kenny.

AUSTRALIAN GARDEN CRAWL - CRANBOURNE

Event Dates: 17-18 March
Cost: $50 including entry fee to the Australian Garden
Time: 5:30pm start
Venue: Meet at Visitor Centre, Australian Garden, Royal Botanic Gardens

Cranbourne, 1000 Ballarto Road (off South Gippsland Highway).

Experience the natural wonders of the Australian Garden - by the light of the moon. Introduced by renowned chef Andrew Blake, guests will embark on a guided tour of the Australian Garden, indulging in native cuisine along the way, including paper bark smoked salmon; kangaroo, wattleseed pavlova and bush tomato soup. Immerse yourself in Australian food, flora and landscape.
