Seed collectors
The seed collectors gather seed for the Cranbourne Gardens seed stock and for the Growing Friends nursery.
The main focus of the initial meetings has been to train a core group of people who are able to independently collect and process seed. Cali Salzmann from the Gardens nursery is the guide and trainer for the group.

Recent news
The group was notified near the end of last year that our application for a Minor Equipment Grant from the City of Casey to help purchase a set of sieves for the seed collecting group was successful. We received the maximum grant in the program, which is $500.
Reconnaissance walks and seed collecting for the 2011/12 seed-collecting season started in September. By the end of summer the group will have met about 18 times, with a few more sessions planned for March. We have had some success in locating and collecting seeds of plants we missed in 2010/11.
We have met on different days of the week this season to encourage as many people as possible to attend. Numbers have ranged from two to seven people with an active membership about ten.
